Turkmen President to visit Japan

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov plans to pay official visit to Japan late 2009, national TV channel Turkmenistan-4 said.

Preparation for upcoming visit was discussed at the meeting with Japanese delegation of business circles. This delegation has been recently received by Turkmen President. Chairman of Japanese-Turkmen committee on economic cooperation, deputy-chairman of Itochu Corporation Sumitaka Fudzita headed this mission. Heads of Komatsu and JGC companies accompanied him.

"The visit to Japan is designed to give a new powerful impulse to develop traditional inter-state dialogue," the information said. Japanese businessmen stressed great interest of large Japanese business in expansion of its presence at prospective Turkmen market and realization of new joint projects. They also expressed readiness for further acceleration of productive cooperation upon the principles of trust and mutual benefit.

The interlocutors highly appreciated activity of Turkmen-Japanese committee on economic cooperation. The committee achieved success in supplies of highly productive road-construction and excavation technique used almost in all Turkmen largest constructions.
