U.S deputy minister of defense Alexander Vershbow will arrive in Tbilisi on October 19, the U.S embassy to Georgia said.
The first meeting of a working group on security will be held within two-day-visit of the U.S governmental delegation headed by Vershbow.
The reform of Georgian defense, participation of Georgian armed forces in the operation conducted in Afghanistan under aegis of NATO, as well as regional security will be discussed. Meetings of two working groups will be held in November and December.
Alexander Vershbow will meet with representatives of the Georgian government.
The U.S embassy to Georgia reminds that four working groups were established upon the Charter on Strategic Partnership between two countries. These groups operate in democracy, security, economic cooperation and inter-relations between two peoples.
The Charter on Strategic Partnership was signed between the USA and Georgia in January 2009.
