Georgian opposition to attend enlarged meeting of National Security Council

The enlarged meeting of the Georgian National Security Council will take place on Oct. 12 for the second time in the presidential palace in Avlabari at 17.00.

The meeting will be held as part of President Mikheil Saakashvili's proposals sent to the opposition.

The first meeting was held in early August and attended by parliamentary and extra-parliamentary opposition. In contrast to parliamentary - extra-parliamentary opposition was represented at the meeting in part.

At the August meeting, it was agreed that the opposition will give lists of political prisoners to the so-called law-enforcement ministers, and begin work on their release, but the opposition claimed that the government failed to fulfill this promise.
