Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov received newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Azerbaijan, Jan Lucas van Hoorn to hand over present copies of his credentials, the Foreign Ministry reported.
Van Hoorn expressed satisfaction with the appointment as an ambassador to Azerbaijan and beginning of his activity in the country.
He also expressed the interest of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the development of relations with Azerbaijan and stressed that during his tenure, he will seek to develop relations between the countries in all spheres.
Elmar Mammadyarov told about the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, energy, tourism, cultural spheres, and shared his thoughts on the prospects of bilateral relations.
The ambassador also was interested in the process of settling the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mammadyarov, familiarizing the guest with the negotiation process on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said that a settlement is possible only within the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on other topics of interest to both parties.
