Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the Iranian delegation headed by Iranian Vice-President Isfandiar Rahim Mashaee on Oct.15, AzerTaj state news agency reported.
Aliyev noted the importance of Mashee's visit in terms of discussing the current state and prospects of the Iran-Azerbaijan relations.
Noting the successful Azerbaijan-Iran cooperation in various spheres, the President expressed confidence that the visit and the meeting will help strengthen ties between the countries.
Mashee conveyed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's greetings to Aliyev and Azerbaijani people, and handed Ahmadinejad's letter to the Azerbaijani President.
Aliyev thanked for the letter and expressed confidence that the important points raised in the letter will strengthen further cooperation.
Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the Iranian president's greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Ahmadinejad.
