Azerbaijan, Baku, October 21 / Trend , M.Aliyev / In Azerbaijan, the district election commissions approved 7,126 candidates for municipal elections in 1,075 municipalities. Of candidates, 2,886 have higher education.
Nine political parties nominated candidates in the elections.
Lists for the collection of signatures have been provided to 5,828 candidates, the press service of the Central Election Commission told Trend on Oct. 21. Already 73 of them provided lists of signatures and other required documents.
Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on December 23.
