Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 28 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
The U.S policy towards Georgia remains unchanged. The U.S supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and will never recognize the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, new U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Bass said in an interview with the Rustavi-2 television company on Oct.28.
"We will never recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states," Bass said.
The ambassador noted the negative traces, which the conflict leaves on people's lives. "We don't believe that violence is the basis to resolve conflicts and establish peace," Bass added.
Boss said that Georgia should develop approaches for the repatriation of refugees.
"First of all, Georgia should develop its own approach in resolving territorial conflicts, and for this Georgia must become a country of prosperity and economic development," Boss said.
