The Azerbaijani opposition party will participate in the municipal election with 102 candidates.
"Candidacy of one part of the party's members willing to participate in municipal elections passed registration at the relevant district election commissions and currently they are successfully holding signature collecting campaign," the opposition Muasir Musavat party told Trend on Oct.29.
In Azerbaijan, the municipal elections are scheduled for Dec. 23, 2009.
Some 15,682 members should be elected for 1,718 municipalities.
Before, Azerbaijan held municipal elections in 1999 and 2004.
The remaining candidates have submitted their documents to the relevant electoral commissions. In general, the party will take part in the municipal elections with 102 candidates, the party added.
Muasir Musavat was established in 2000 The Party was granted state registration in 2002. Muasir Musavat considers itself as a constructive opposition towards the authorities.
