Clashes between Iranian security forces and gunmen have blocked a motorway linking the capital to the city of Karaj located to the west of Tehran Province, reports say, Press TV reported.
According to Tabnak news website, clashes erupted between Iranian police and a gang of armed thieves leaving the area under heavy security.
No official news agency has so far confirmed the report.
The area affected by the reported clash extends from Fardis Bridge to Garmdarreh in Tehran-Karaj expressway.
