Turkmen MPs should "take care of the people and regularly meet with voters," President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said today.
Addressing Parliamentary Speaker Akja Nurberdiyeva, the president stressed the need to involve MPs more in "addressing the socio-economic and cultural development of the regions."
The speaker reported on parliamentary activities to form a legislative framework for state priority policies. She added that a series of new laws are under way to regulate state policies in various social sectors.
Berdimuhamedov's speech focused on the urgent need to modernize legislation as "an essential prerequisite for the country's further progress and the successful implementation of all ongoing large-scale reform programs and projects."
