Slovenian President Danilo Turk met here today the Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov.
Parties had comprehensive exchange of views on versatile and successful development of bilateral relations in all fields. As stated, reciprocal visits of top officials of both countries` gave impetus to bilateral cooperation.
Signing of five agreements on cooperation between the two countries will create firm ground for further partnership and cooperation, Asadov noted. At his words, Azerbaijan plays in the South Caucasus the similar role which Slovenia plays in the Balkan region. Azerbaijan could benefit experience of Slovenia how to become EU member, he stressed. The Speaker, in particular, reminded the Eastern Partnership program being successfully implemented in Azerbaijan.
The first official visit of Slovenian president was rich in impressions, so, he expressed pleasure with being in the capital of Azerbaijan. At his words, Slovenia and Azerbaijan have similarity from the point of view of historical development.
