New Tajik ambassador arrives in Ashgabat

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Nov. 10 / Trend H. Hasanov /

Ashur Abdurahim has been accredited as the new Tajik ambassador to Turkmenistan. He recently presented his credentials to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow.

At the meeting, the agenda was discussed for the next meeting of the Turkmen-Tajik inter-governmental commission on trade, technology and education in Dushanbe.

The diplomat said the two countries must maintain sound relations to intensify the Turkmen-Tajik dialogue.

Tajik President Emimali Rahmonov's last working visit to Turkmenistan was in October 2009. He took part in opening new tourist infrastructure on the Turkmen shore of the Caspian Sea.

"Tajikistan is highly interested in strengthening and accelerating fruitful interaction with Turkmenistan. Tajikistan considers Turkmenistan not only a reliable partner, but also a dear fiend," Abdurahim said.
