This year Graduates were members of the State Customs Service, State Border Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Security, the State Migration Service, and the State Service of Turkmenistan on the fight against drugs. In her speech to graduates, Charge d'Affaires of United States of America Sylvia Curran stressed the importance of English in improved law enforcement operations.
"Fluency in English opens door to a world of relevant information and key tools that enhance the ability of law enforcement officers perform their duties," she said. "I hope this ceremony will become for you not an end but next stage in your learning English language and professional education. Please, keep study. And let us continue work, which we conduct together," she added.
Under financial support of U.S. Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, students attend classes three times a week for ten months. In return, three most successful students are invited to attend a study tour to Great Britain after completion of training. The project started in 2006. Nowadays, over 50 law enforcement officials of Turkmenistan passed the training.
