Supporters of Georgia's first president's widow Manana Archvadze-Gamsakhurdia, members of the Round Table and Great National Unification yesterday launched a hunger strike demanding the release of her son Tsotne Gamsakhurdia.
According to organizers, the hunger strike will be held in the yard of the office of the Public Defender of Georgia in the Machabeli Str. Every day, one person will participate in the hunger strike.
Maman Archvadze-Gamsakhurdia's supporters consider arrest of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia illegal. The first president's son, who is accused of illegal possession and carrying of firearms and attempted premeditated murder, announced a hunger strike at the prison. At this time, he was sentenced to two-month imprisonment.
