On Nov. 16, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on additional measures related to the introduction of alternative and renewable energy sources in the country, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
Upon the order, to take necessary measures for the study and introduction of production capacity for wind, solar, biomass and geothermal energy, the Reserve Fund of the President allocates 1 million manat to the Ministry of Industry and Energy. In addition, the Reserve Fund of the President allocates 1 million manat to Azerenergy JSC to carry out activities aimed at exploring the potential of wind energy and mountain rivers and widespread use of small hydropower stations.
The Finance Ministry is in charge of providing finance stipulated in the order and the Cabinet of Ministers is in charge of resolving the issues arising from the order.
