A ceremony dedicated to the memory of Nationwide Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev was held in St. Petersburg at the initiative of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan and the National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis, the press service of the Consulate General said.
The event was attended by the General Consul Gudsi Osmanov, Chairman of the National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis V.Myamishov, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora and representatives of the local population.
Making a speech before the participants, Gudsi Osmanov mentioned Heydar Aliyev's high merits to the Azerbaijani people and said that the Nationwide Leader has created a real turning point in bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
