Three Americans detained in Iran are under investigation, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said.
"The Iranian Foreign Ministry does not provide information on Iranian citizens arrested in the U.S and Americans detained in Iran," Mottaki said.
Three U.S. citizens were detained in Iran in July. They are accused of espionage.
Washington said the American citizens are tourists. They went to Iraq after making a long journey on foot and accidentally crossed the Iraqi border into Iran.
U.S. officials deny the allegations that the detained Americans work in intelligence.
