Azerbaijani parliament to participate at Organization of Islamic Conference Parliamentary Union meeting

Azerbaijani parliamentary representatives will take part in an Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Parliamentary Union meeting.

"Today First Deputy Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov and MP Govhar Bakhshaliyeva will leave for the Egyptian capital Cairo to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States," the MM Press Service told Trend today.

The event will begin with a meeting of experts. Discussions will then be continue under the chairmanship of Egyptian Parliamentary Speaker Ahmed Fathi Sorour at the level of heads of parliaments.

"Secretary General of the OIC Parliamentary Union Mahmud Erol Kilic's report will be heard at both meetings. Taking into account the proposals made by experts during the Algerian and Cairo meetings, a general discussion was held of the report on the charter and the rules of the OIC Parliamentary Union," the MM Press Service added.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani parliament will acquaint participants with the country's position on various issues during the visit, which will last until Dec. 22.
