Azerbaijan might increase its military contingent in Afghanistan, Azerbaijani First Vice Parliamentary Speaker Ziyafat Askerov told journalists today.
A proposal was made to expand the country's military contingent in Afghanistan at the last meeting of NATO member country foreign ministers.
According to Askerov, an appeal to increase the Azerbaijani contingent has not been received.
"If we receive an appeal, the issue will be considered," he said.
Ninety Azerbaijani peacemakers serve in Afghanistan in the tInternational Security Assistance Force.
