Turkmen Leader Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov believes that trust in "Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations are growing with each year, which allows not only intergovernmental dialogue to reach a higher level, but also leads to its rapid development."
He made the statement while greeting Azerbaijan's new Ambassador Elkhan Huseynov.
Meanwhile, Huseynov shared his impressions of the country.
"Here, I have gained a great number of friends ... I see a thriving and growing Turkmenistan ... There is a fertile land which Allah has given untold wealth. But its main wealth is the Turkmen people. They are our brothers," the ambassador was quoted as saying by the Turkmen national television channel Altyn Asir.
In 2008, the presidents of the two countries exchanged visits. The sides also established an intergovernmental commission and held cultural events.
