Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan publicizes names of pilgrims injured in Karbala (UPDATE)

The Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Ershad Omar Ismail publicized the names of the pilgrims who were injured during incident in Karbala. From Azerbaijani pilgrims, Abdullayev Mushvig, born in 1986, was wounded from his arm and Nazarova Nushabe from her breast, the ambassador told Trend .

The ambassador also said that the name of the killed 16 years old pilgrim is Leyla Ahmadova. According to the ambassador the wounded were operated on, and their state is average stable. Other pilgrims have already returned to Baku. And relatives of wounded pilgrims stayed with them.  

The ambassador also said that the Mutavakkil company provided visas to the Azerbaijani pilgrims, falsifying the stamp of the Iraqi embassy in Azerbaijan.

Ershad Ismail also stated that while the serial number of the Iraqi visas starts with 4, the visas provided to pilgrims start with 83.

Today the ambassador confirmed that as a result of the attacks on one of two buses carrying pilgrims, a 16-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan died and two men and one woman were injured.

According to the official, all Azerbaijani pilgrims who came under fire in the Iraqi city of Samara received visas from the Iraqi Embassy in Iran. Samara is considered a hot spot, the ambassador said.

The tomb of Imam Hussein is considered a place of pilgrimage for Shiite Muslims who annually travel to these cities to honor his memory during the month of Muharam.
