A serious investigation must be conducted with regards to the incident in Azerbaijan's military unit, the deputy chairman of Azerbaijani ruling party said.
"We deeply regret over such an incident. The essence and causes of the incident must be seriously investigated. Therefore, it would be incorrect to make any comments," deputy chairman, executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Ali Ahmadov, told Trend on Jan. 30.
Ahmadov said that it needs to expect the results of the investigation regarding the incident. "Comprehensive information will be made publicly available after the completion of the investigation. I think that we must express regret with the death of our military people. But I repeat that we must patiently expect the results of the investigation regarding the reasons of the incident," deputy chairman of ruling party said.
Six military people were killed and two were wounded during an armed incident in Azerbaijani military unit in Dashkesen district on Jan. 28 at nearly 18:00.
NAP was established by the chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Heydar Aliyev in 1992. The current President Ilham Aliyev is the chairman of the Party which has been ruling for already 17 years.
