In Dashkesen, 400 kilometers west of Baku, a criminal case has been opened after an armed incident in a military unit, Azerbaijani Parliamentary Speaker Ogtay Asadov said today. Detailed information will be submitted after the investigation's completion, he added.
Six military servicemen were killed and two were wounded in an armed incident at a military unit in the Dashkesen district Jan. 28 at 6:00 p.m.
A criminal case was launched under Articles 120.2.1 (Deliberate Murder Committed by a Group of Individuals).
Musavat party MP Ikram Israfil offered to send a group headed by Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee Chairman Ziyafet Askerov to the unit.
"It is necessary to hold closed discussions in parliament in connection with the incident," Umid Party MP Igbal Aghazade told Trend today.
