In Azerbaijan, in January, in accordance with the rules provided in articles of the Code of Administrative Violations, a decision was made to evict 491 foreigners from the country within 48 hours, and to evict 196 foreigners from the country in an administrative procedure, the head of public relations department of the State Migration Service (SMS) Zarnishan Ahmadova told Trend .
During January 2010, SMS received 4690 appeals from foreigners and persons without citizenship with regards to extension of temporary stay in the country, issuance of permits for temporary and permanent residence, acceptance to citizenship, restoration, loss of citizenship, as well as the definition of nationality and status of refugee, issuance of individual permits for the conduct of activities and extension of the existing individual permits.
As a result of measures to prevent illegal migration, taken during the reported period, employees of SMS identified violations of requirements of administrative law by 968 foreigners, living on the territory of the country, and 281 of them were legalized through the application of fines.
