PACE co-rapporteurs will submit a report recapping June visit to Azerbaijan, Andres Herkel, PACE co-rapporteur, told journalists in Ganja.
"Ganja visit was our initiative, as we wanted to see the situation not only in Baku but also in the country's regions," he said.
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan, Andres Herkel and Joseph Debono Grech, are on a visit to Azerbaijan now.
The co-rapporteurs met with Ganja Executive Chief Eldar Azizov.
Meetings with police agency representatives, NGOs, as well as a visit to pre-trial prison No. 2 are planned.
A decision on the co-rapporteurs' visit was made at a PACE Monitoring Committee meeting in Paris on Dec. 17, 2009.
The co-rapporteurs will meet with chairman of the Azerbaijani parliament, justice minister, prosecutor general and CEC chairman, National Broadcasting Council, Ombudsman's Office chief, members of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, as well as other government and opposition members.
Ganja is the second largest city located 365 kilometers from Baku.
