Deputy Speaker: Azerbaijani opposition concerned on its status

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.10 / Trend A.Huseynbala /

"The Azerbaijani opposition's unease in the run up to the parliamentary elections is connected to its position, and this is logical," Azerbaijani Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Bahar Muradova said

"Frameworks of the opposition's social support are narrowed, and eventually participation in such processes causes them great difficulties. And their anxiety is quite clear," Muradova said

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled to be held by late 2010

Opposition is carrying out negotiations on joint participation in the elections before the parliamentary elections

Regarding the opposition's proposals in connection with the formation of electoral commissions on a parity basis, Muradova said that it can have a place between the equal forces

"Therefore, according to the results of a recent parliamentary elections and other subsequent elections, it is unknown what kind of forces is available for parity, while it is obviously who is capable. That determined the format of election commissions," Muradova said

According to Muradova, committees' reorganization issue may be considered only as a result of the next parliamentary elections.
