An EU delegation will arrive in Georgia for the official start of the cooperation under the Partnership for Mobility program Feb.16. A meeting with the delegation will be held in the Georgian Foreign Ministry at 10:00, said the Government.
Georgia will inform about migration situation. Parties will also consider the initiatives and plan of cooperation under this program, which reflects the specific actions and determines the responsible departments of the participating countries - EU member states and Georgia.
Cooperation within this program will assist in legal work of Georgian citizens in European countries, including the so-called "circular migration". This program will allow the Georgian citizens to work, to learn and to attend training in EU countries in a definite period, and then return to Georgia. This program also provides close cooperation with Georgian Diaspora representatives.
At the same time, active cooperation with the EU within this program is one of the most important elements for the liberalization of visa regime with EU countries in the future.
The Joint Declaration on "Partnership for Mobility" was signed in Brussels Nov. 30, 2009. Georgia also signed it along with the EU countries.
