Municipalities will get additional powers, the Azerbaijani Parliament Committee chairman said.
"Currently, we are developing a mechanism for providing municipalities with additional powers," the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Regional Affairs Committee Chairman Arif Rahimzade told media on Friday.
According to Rahimzade, there are some differences on the bill, which hampers its adoption.
As to the question whether municipalities will deal with public utilities, the committee's chairman said that the draft has not indicated any specific powers.
"The bill envisages a mechanism to provide, monitor and execute powers," he said.
It is still unknown whether the bill will be submitted for discussion at the spring session of Parliament, Rahimzade said.
