Ukraine states about need to continue cooperation with Georgia

Georgian-Ukrainian relations will develop in the best possible way, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn said during his meeting with Speaker of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze and Deputy Speaker Mikheil Machavariani. He stressed that "continuation of cooperation is necessary because politicians change, but countries and people stay forever.

Speaker of the legislative body of Georgia David Bakradze and his first deputy, Mikhail Machavariani are in Ukraine, where they took part in the inauguration of Viktor Yanukovych.

The press service of the Georgian Parliament said members of the Georgian delegation held several meetings with representatives of official Kiev. "The main theme of the meetings was the continuation of the Georgian-Ukrainian relations. I am very pleased that all meetings stressed that the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries would be the best," Bakradze said.

"Whoever would be the president or prime minister of Ukraine, we must maintain good relations with Georgia," leader of "Strong Ukraine" Sergey Tigipko said.
