Georgia's president stressed the growing level of debates in the Georgian Parliament.
However, speaking in debates in the Parliament, Mikheil Saakashvili expressed his displeasure by remarks voiced by some opposition parliamentarians towards their colleagues.
"We build our country on tough principles and do not change them. When one tells us how people leave you and then strengthen the opposition, I say that these people have betrayed the principles and they could not be with us. We never change our principles. We say goodbye to people, despite they are our friends, or relatives," Mikheil Saakashvili said in his annual appeal to the parliament.
"Everybody knows well if someone stole something, he would have to leave. I certainly regret that we got rid of many very late, but it's my fault and I admit it," Saakashvili said.
The President stressed that debates in the Parliament showed the difference between the positions of the opposition and majority.
"Of course, you can look at things differently. A glass is either half empty or half full. If we judge by the statistics, our country is three times stronger and growth is evident. We were able to build a country, which someone calls frustrated", Saakashvili said.
Georgia's President emphasized that he listens to the opposition, and joked that not only by hearing Interior Minister.
"We approved some of your proposals, gentlemen opposition members. We are ready for cooperation", he said.
Saakashvili stressed that he knows the real situation in the country, about the problems in different spheres, but it is necessary to work more, but not constantly talk about the difficulties.
As to reduction of financing the defense sphere, the President stated that he is not Dalai Lama and Georgia is at war, without a ceasefire agreement with Russia.
"In this situation we can not stand against the enemy without arms, although in these circumstances, we have reduced financing of military men twice," he said.
Saakashvili reiterated that he looks at the criminal authority negatively and will not allow its revival in the country.
He stressed that Georgia was worse than Palermo.
"I want such Georgia by the end of my presidential term, when there will be better roads in our country than in new countries of Europe, better schools and hospitals. Thre will be political opponents, rather than political enemies. There will be no persecution on ethnic or religious lines. The major thing will be intelligence and talent. There are not searchlights, but reality," he said.
The Georgian President stressed that his people will not stand in a pose of the perpetrator and his country will always be an equal partner to all.
"We will create such Georgia which will not be profaned by occupants. There will be nobody who cringes to occupants or wishes to make money off it," he said.
Saakashvili advised the opposition looking at the situation in the country through glasses to put off glasses, as it is possible to move ahead only in a car. One can not go further driving a car in glasses.
