Azerbaijan filed lawsuits on 16 military men and nine civilians engaged in intelligence activities, said in the Government's report to Azerbaijani Parliament on results of 2009.
Eleven military men and six civilians were sentenced in accordance with articles high treason, espionage and terrorism of the Criminal Code. Criminal cases filed towards four military men and two civilians in accordance with articles on high treason are underway.
Seventeen military men were sentenced because of various crimes committed during military service. Judicial actions towards five military men, and investigative actions towards eight military men are underway.
