President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolence to President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
The letter, in particular, says: "I was deeply saddened upon hearing the news on the death of outstanding religious figure, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Mohammad Sayyid Tantawi.
I share your sorrow over the bereavement and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on behalf of myself, I offer deep sympathies to Your, family and friends of the late, and all the people of Egypt.
May Allah rest his soul in peace!"
