FM: Singapore intends to develop bilateral relations with Azerbaijan (PHOTO)

Singapore intends to develop bilateral relations with Azerbaijan, Singapore's Foreign Minister George Yeo told journalists in Baku today.

"The country plans to open a direct air message, the possibility of what is now being studied," he added.  

The minister cited the beginning of the construction of a shipyard as a striking example of Singapore's desire to cooperate with Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan plans to expand the contractual legal basis between the two countries.

"During the negotiations we have decided to work towards the signing of agreements in the field of investment and avoidance of double taxation in the future," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.

According to him, the parties also agreed to hold political consultations and days of culture between the two countries.
