Azerbaijan, Baku, Apr. 16 / Trend M.Aliyev /

"Holding rallies in the center of Baku may paralyze traffic," Legislation and Legal Expertise Department head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Shahin Aliyev told journalists.

"Given the thick traffic in Baku, holding mass rallies during the elections may paralyze traffic," he said.

Based on the decision of the Baku City Executive Power, rallies may be held at the Neftchi Stadium in Bibi-Heybat, the square in front of the Baku Oil Refinery, Ukraine Square in the Khatai district and the Tofik Ismaylov Stadium in Surakhani .

Marches may be organized near the Neftchiler Metro to the square in front of the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, the Hazi Aslanov Metro near the Ukraine Square and the Sattar Bahlulzade Square naer the Neftchi Sport Health Center Stadium.

However, Azerbaijani opposition parties expressed their desire to hold rallies in the city center.

Aliyev said the places offered by the Baku City Executive Power are suitable for mass protests.
