U.S. ambassador: Regional particularities must be considered as France sells 'Mistral' to Russia

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 22 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /

U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Bass said "regional particularities" must be considered as France sells the "Mistral" to Russia

"Although France and Russia have already agreed on the sale, I think its construction will take years," he said.

The Georgian authorities protested the sale of the "Mistral" to Russia and called upon France to refrain from making the transaction. The Georgian parliament and representatives of executive authorities expressed their position during meetings with French senators last week.

Meanwhile, the French side believes that this is just business.
