Georgia, Tbilisi, May 17 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /
The Georgian side doesn't intend to start negotiations with Russia without preconditions, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze said at a press briefing today commenting on the statement of former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, who with reference to Georgia's Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze told the press that Tbilisi is ready to begin negotiations with Moscow without any preconditions.
According to Kalandadze, she has not attended this meeting, however assures that the Georgian side's position remains firm -negotiations with Russia are possible only through deoccupation of the occupied territories.
"Georgia's problems - occupation and recognition of Georgia's territories - are connected with Russia. Russia is responsible for everything, and when we talk about deoccupation and the return of refugees to Russia, as a side of the conflict, Russia is responsible for these problems," Kalandadze said.
She noted that discussions on these issues are underway at the Geneva talks.
