During his visit to Astana May 25, Turkish President Abdullah Gul will discuss establishing the Turkic-Speaking Country Cooperation Council with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"Gul's visit will be held in a new format of bilateral relations due to the newly signed treaty between Kazakhstan and Turkey on strategic partnership, as well as the establishment of the Turkic Council," the ministry said.

The agreement was signed at the Ninth Summit of Heads of Turkic-Speaking countries in Nakhchivan in October 2009.

The presidents will discuss a wide range of trade and economic issues amid the global financial crisis and the establishment of the Customs Union between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus, which started work in 2010 with the entry into force of a common customs tariff.
