Azerbaijani parliament approves bill 'Normative legal acts'

The bill of the constitutional law "Normative legal acts" was adopted at the third reading of an extraordinary meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building Ali Huseynov gave detailed information about the bill to the parliamentarians.

This law determines the rules of preparation, design, approval, adoption, promulgation, enactment, interpretation and systematization of legal acts, the committee head said.

"This project is appreciated by Lithuanian experts cooperating with the Azerbaijani Parliament within the twinning program, and the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.

According to the assessment of the Venice Commission, the project is developed in details.

The law is designed to prevent abuse of power by officials in state bodies," Huseynov said.

Adoption and implementation of next bills will be carried out within the requirements of the Constitutional Law.

MPs Ilyas Ismailov and Panah Huseynov noted some gaps in the bill. MP Sabir Rustamkhanli called the bill an extremely important document.
