The U.N. thanked Azerbaijan today for providing assistance to Haiti after a massive earthquake took thousands of lives and left thousands more homeless.
Earlier, Azerbaijan allocated $500,000 to the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund.
The Haiti Emergency Relief Fund is a joint fund providing financial assistance to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations in Haiti. The fund has so far received $82 million in financial assistance - $65 million have already been spent on search and rescue operations.
