A fourth man died yesterday after a blast in a Georgian coal mine last month that killed three miners instantly. A further six miners remain hospitalized.
Malkhaz Chanturidze, 43, died last night in a burns hospital nearly a week after the deadly blast in a mine at Tkibuli. According to doctors, 60 percent of Chanturidze's body was burned and he had been connected to a respirator.
Another six miners remain in the burns center. Among them is Giorgi Oboladze, a miner whose condition is being described as serious.
The explosion in the Tkibuli Mindeli coal mine took place on the evening of Aug. 27.
