A monument will be established to the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in Odessa, the mayor of Odessa Edward Hurvitz said in a conversation with the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Eynulla Madatli, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
"We have considered the issue to establish a monument to Heydar Aliyev. Azerbaijani diaspora makes very much for the development of our city. The area and date of establishing the monument is specified," said the mayor of Odessa.
"We would be glad to see Baku in the number of brother cities of Odessa," said Hurvitz. Azerbaijani ambassador to Ukraine attended celebrations on the Odessa Day.
