Azerbaijan hosted a national workshop on a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity issues, which was organized by the OSCE Baku Office. The workshop, launched Sept.7, will last two days.
According to OSCE Baku Office head Ali Bilge Cankorel, cybersecurity is one of the important topics within the OSCE.
"In due course, Azerbaijan's dependence on information and communication technologies is significantly growing. Thereby Azerbaijan's vulnerability to cyber attacks increases. Therefore, cooperation at the international level is needed in this field," Cankorel said.
He said Azerbaijan has significantly made progress in the sphere of information technologies.
"Azerbaijan has made progress in this field. At the same time, the country joined the Council of Europe Convention on cybersecurity. Joining the Convention, Azerbaijan undertook the obligations to amend several legislative acts," Cankorel said.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies Bakhtiyar Mammadov, Azerbaijan has committed itself to combat using Internet by terrorists.
