President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov held talks with German chancellor Angela Merkel at the UN headquarters, New York (USA).
Uzbek head underlined that Germany is one of the reliable partners of Uzbekistan in Europe. HE added that the relations between countries are developing gradually in all spheres.
During the meeting, Angela Merkel expressed gratitude to the President Islam Karimov for support of peaceful policy of Germany.
The sides exchanged opinion on further expanding of the Uzbek-Germany cooperation and other issues, representing mutual interests.
On the same day Karimov carried out talks with Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov underlined that Belgium is one of reliable partners of Uzbekistan in Eastern Europe and the relations are developing gradually in politics, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres.
Yves Leterme, in his turn, said that Belgium highly ranks cooperation with Uzbekistan with special attention to issues on developing mutual relations.
He underlined that favourable investment climate in Uzbekistan increases interest of Belgian businesses to implementation of joint projects with the Uzbek partners.
During the talks, the sides discussed the Uzbek-Belgium relations and other issues of mutual interest.
