The situation in Libya resembles that one in the Ivory Coast. The world powers are fighting each other for possession of oil resources, deposits of bauxite, gold reserves, Foreign Minister of Libya, Musa Kusa, said in an exclusive interview to RT Arabic channel - Rusia al -Yaum.

"In Benghazi, the world powers are fighting among themselves for possession of natural resources," he said.

Protest actions in the Libyan provinces demanding Gaddafi's resignation and all senior officials have been continuing since Feb. 15.
During the suppression of mass demonstrations in the Libyan city of Benghazi, up to 6,000 were injured.
On March 9, Barack Obama and British Prime Minister, David Cameron, agreed to seek for the immediate cessation of violence in Libya and the resignation of the country's leader Muammar Gaddafi by joint efforts.

Kusa said that the rebels in Libya act in a conspiracy with the European powers, which are interested in a split in Libya.

"It is clear that it is a conspiracy. It is seriously prepared. The fact that this splitting group has contacts with the world powers and gets assistance from them testifies to it," he said.

Minister stressed that it is in the first place, England, which once owned Cyrenaica.

"England misses its former colony. It is trying to get it back now," Kusa said.
