Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will pay a visit to Azerbaijan on April 28-29, a diplomatic source in Ukraine told Trend.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani and Ukrainian presidents are expected to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation.
Baku is expected to host the ninth meeting of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani joint intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation on April 21, on the eve of Yanukovych's visit.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov discussed issues relating to the visit on April 13, the embassy reported.
The sides agreed on key issues in Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations in preparations for the official visit.
Also discussed were the preparations for the Baku meeting of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani joint intergovernmental commission. The previous meeting was held in Kiev on Oct.7, 2010.
