Kuwait hosted celebration of May 28 - Republic Day and the 20th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan. For this purpose, an official reception was held, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kuwait told Trend.
The event was attended by members of the ruling home of Kuwait, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and Parliament, head of Kuwait City Executive Power, well-known public figures, representatives of various diplomatic missions and mass media, businessmen and Azerbaijanis living and working here.
Honorary guest of the event - Kuwaiti Minister of Education Ahmed Abdul Muhsin Al-Marafi expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of friendly and brotherly ties between the two countries.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan Tural Rzayev said in 2011 Kuwait hosted the first meeting of the inter-governmental commission of the two states, three documents were signed, an exhibition on the history and culture of Azerbaijan was organized, Culture Days of Azerbaijan were conducted Kuwait.
Later, the Azerbaijani Ambassador and Education Minister of Kuwait answered the questions of journalists.
Ambassador, who said that this year Kuwait celebrates 20th anniversary of liberation from Iraqi occupation, said that the Kuwaiti people, as well as Azerbaijan well know such occupation. He thanked the leadership of Kuwait for supporting the fair position of Azerbaijan in the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Rzayev also informed the participants about the destructive position of Armenia in the negotiation process to resolve the conflict.
Kuwaiti officials have sent a letter to the Azerbaijani Embassy, in which they expressed their best wishes to the Azerbaijani people and praised the relationship between the two countries.
During the event, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Kuwait were performed, participants were shown documentary films about the capital, history, culture, architecture and nature of Azerbaijan.
