Azerbaijan's National Security Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office carried out operations and detained Azerbaijani citizens - Suleymanov Abgul Nemat, Bayramov Ramin Jahangir and Ganiyev Arif Gulsuvar, who are suspected of carrying out hostile activity against Azerbaijan, assisting foreign state and its representatives, committing unrests, violating public order, inciting citizens to disobedience, said a joint statement of National Security Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office.

With the financial support of Baku Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abgul Suleymanov established a radical religious group "Jafari", which was not registered officially. The members of the group engaged in propaganda for religious radicalism, prepared and disseminated leaflets promoting religious sects and instilling religious discord. "Jafari" radical religious group launched www.Islam-Azeri.az and Ramin Bayramov was commissioned to head the website.

Abgul Suleymanov and members of "Jafari" radical religious group had close contacts with the representatives of Baku Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran, radical Shiite religious communities in Azerbaijan. Moreover, Abgul Suleymanov had close contacts with Huseynov Isgandar Huseynali, who has been wanted under charges of terrorism and high treason since 2008, is living in Gum city of Iran and heading "Hagg yolu" scientific-cultural center there. Huseynov gave instructions to Suleymanov concerning the activity of "Jafari" radical religious group.

The members of "Jafari" radical religious group participated in the events held by Azerbaijan Islamic Party, which is financed by the religious representations of Iran in Azerbaijan and is not registered officially, they openly called to establish a state governed with the rules of shariat.

All the unauthorized pickets of radical religious persons outside the embassies of some western countries in Azerbaijan were organized by Abgul Suleymanov.

19 g hashish was found on Arif Ganiyev, 1 Makarov pistol, 1 charger, 5 PM cartridges, were found in his car. 1 Baykal pistol, silencer, 1 charger, 8 cartridges, 2 F-1 hand grenades, 2 blasting caps, more than 13 g hashish were found in the garage owned by Ramin Bayramov. 23.7 g hashish was found on Abgul Suleymanov.

Main Investigation Department of the National Security Ministry launched criminal case on articles 228.1 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives) and 234 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code. Court passed judgment to arrest Suleymanov Abgul Nemat, Bayramov Ramin Jahangir and Ganiyev Arif Gulsuvar.

Investigation is being continued to expose other participants of these illegal actions.
