A delegation of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry is attending the CODRII 2011 exercise in Moldova.
The Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service of the Interior Ministry of Moldova are carrying out CODRII 2011 exercise near Chisinau on Aug.27, Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry's website reported.
The exercises will last until Sept. 2. The exercise scenario is associated mainly with the elimination of the consequences of an earthquake conventionally occurred in a distance of 225 km from Chisinau (7.5 on the Richter scale).
Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry will be represented in the exercise by 24 people, which are divided into search and rescue teams, groups of anti-gas, biological, radiation and nuclear protection.
The exercise is also attended by the commands of NATO members and partners, and representatives of UN, EU and other international organizations.
