Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov has met with Secretary General and Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Chung Eui-yong at the headquarters of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party on Tuesday.

Ahmadov expressed satisfaction with the visit of the ICAPP representatives to Baku. He said Azerbaijan celebrates the 20th anniversary of the restoration of independence.

He spoke about the new history of the republic, including the problems with which Azerbaijan has faced over the years.

He also recalled that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory was occupied by Armenia.

Chung Eui-yong congratulated the deputy chairman of the ruling party with the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan's state independence.

Noting the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea, he expressed satisfaction that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the relations with the Conference and expressed hope that these ties will continue flourishing.

The ICAPP constituent meeting was held in the Philippines in September 2000.
