Since its establishment, the Azerbaijani Defense Industry Ministry created 30 new industrial sites, the territorial organization of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) said at a meeting at the ministry on Friday.
At present, there operate tens of sites for the production of weapons, ammunition and military equipment, as well as areas for the production of batteries, repair and disposal of small arms and ammunition, modernization, repair and testing of armored vehicles, and others.
In 2007-2011, the ministry opened 15 enterprises following the renovation. In 2010, the production of defense products increased by 10 times compared to 2007.
If in 2006 the ministries' enterprises produced 175productes the number exceeded 600 in 2011. Since 2009, the production exhibited at more than 10 international exhibitions.
The meeting heard the report of NAP Territorial Organization Chairman Vagif Zeynalov oon activities of the organization, as well as government organizations.
